Kiewa View is managed through the family trust of the Walsh family. The key manager is David Walsh, a finance and IT manager/contractor/consultant, who operates this business in a part-time capacity. David has been involved in the hospitality industry in Mount Beauty since 1974. His original business was Kiewa Valley Accommodation which grew from one holiday house in Mount Beauty, into the largest sub-alpine accommodation operation in Victoria with a total of 250 beds across 30 properties. During this period David published a number of editions of "An Investors Guide to Sub-Alpine Real Estate in Victoria" and "Growth Trends in Victorian Ski Resorts". David Also edited a local tourist guide. The business was sold in 1990 and a succession of owners ran down the business until it is no longer in existence. David was dissatisfied with continually falling performance of the agents who had been managing his own house for the 10 years since he sold his property management business. He decided to takeover the marketing and management of his own house again in the year 2000. David's new business model was an internet only business. Using this model David believed that he could offer top service to his guests while operating the business on a part-time basis. Using the technology of the internet he could service the guests from where ever he was working or holidaying, and could manage the local contractors he engaged to meet his guests needs.
